Hello. I'm glad you stopped by. Thank you for your interest in my first book.
What this story might lack in plot, it makes up for in soul-soothing qualities. I wrote this to comfort my lonely heart, at the lowest I've ever felt. I put together meditations and conversations that I needed to hear. I wrote this so I could read it on rough days, to put my mind, heart, and soul in beautiful spaces and find peace. Because it helped me heal and feel empowered, I am sharing a free version. If you like it, let me know, and please write a review.
Puddle: A Tale for the Curious is one of those books that defies easy categorization (just like its author). Magical realism, science, fantasy, myth, meditation, and forest studies mix together in this crock-pot of consciousness, with apple dumplings for dessert. Young adults, young adults at heart, and anyone on a journey to sing that song deep within your heart, this tale might especially interest you.
This is a story for people who speak with plants, and for the healer inside each of us. It is for those of us who notice the little details, and appreciate the value of observation and meditation. Here is a story that celebrates the power of stories, and knows that solid connections can be made over meals, especially woodland-foraged meals.
Come closer, and let's discuss various worlds that could exist somewhere, somewhen in this infinite universe. Let's imagine we get to have a peek at these worlds through puddles, through portals of reflected light. Now, let's travel through one of these portals using a special key, call it waterjumping, and explore further. Puddle: A Tale for the Curious is just that.
Seventeen-year-old Birch feels trapped by expectations, and harshly judged by everyone except a select few. Her garden is her sanctuary. Birch understands that adventures can happen at any moment, especially if there are cats involved. When she witnesses a boy crawl from a puddle that wouldn't cover a toad, she suspends her disbelief in order to see his side of the tale. They waterjump to Veorda, and arrive just in time for the annual Festival, where the trees share their secrets and dance through the night. However, a mysterious force invades the land, and must be defeated before the end of the Festival.
Come. Join the fireside for conversations concerning science and magic (which is often science that has not been explained yet). Review facts, and wonder about wonderful perhapses. Celebrate life, love, joy, health, healing, and the nonjudgmental approach to life that is common among trees.
And, if you're so inclined, support my next book here!
